Teen class

“We love Mrs Aimee's teen art class! My 11 & 14 year olds started this spring and look forward to it every week! They have made friends and they love all the fun projects they have done from to clay face molding and Linocut to collage projects and even toilet paper sculptures! We already have them signed up for the Fall semester. What's even better is that my 14 yr old will get a fine arts credit for high school!”

“Both of my daughters have taken the ‘Mini Matisse’ classes with Mrs. Aimee and loved it! We were really excited when Mrs. Aimee decided to start a teen class. It has been a wonderful experience! Not only has my daughter had the opportunity to work with a range of art mediums- (pastels and paints to clay and plaster casts, etc) but she has built her knowledge on the subject as well. I appreciate the way lessons have been linked; for example, not only did they learn about the beginning of art history but they created their own tempera paint from eggs and iron oxide pigments, too, a lesson that I am sure my daughter will always remember. There have also been opportunities for personal growth- working in groups, as individuals, learning about self expression, and just good ol’ fun. My daughter tends to be a little shy but this is a class she is comfortable at and always looks forward to! Thank you for an amazing semester! We look forward to all the fun, creative lessons to come next year, too!”

Young homeschooler’s art class

“Ms. Aimee is an incredibly talented and nurturing instructor. I can tell that each session is thoughtfully structured, allowing the children to explore a variety of mediums and techniques. What truly sets this class apart is the blend of fun and education. I am reminded of that every time I hear a burst of laughing from the kids and the smiles on their faces showing off their works of art. My child eagerly looks forward to each class and delights in sharing her creations with us. I have also noticed a significant growth my child's knowledge and artistic skills. Art is not something I am able to confidently teach her so I am beyond grateful that my child was able to join Ms. Aimee’s homeschool art class for the past year. I am a cautious and frugal parent who selects our extra curricular activities wisely and thoughtfully. Since Ms. Aimee is a kind, funny, engaging, nurturing teacher with whom I can trust, her art classes will be a part of our lives as long as we are able. I highly recommend Ms. Aimee’s art classes to any parent looking to nurture their child's creativity and artistic talents.”

“We have truly enjoyed Mini Matisse: Art for Kids and feel incredibly blessed to be a part of it. My daughter, Juliet, doesn't like to miss any classes. These classes are run by a professional artist, Aimee and her lovely daughter Ruby who absolutely love the kids. I love that they are truly learning about a new artist weekly and putting what they have learned into practice. They get to work with different mediums and get messy too - which my daughter loves. The price for a semester is incredibly affordable and at the end of year - we got to participate in an art exhibition which was absolutely amazing!!!! I have since shared with many about these classes! (Aimee also takes pictures and uploads them weekly for parents, which I appreciate.) Thank you Aimee and Ruby for sharing your talents with our children.”

“Mrs Aimee is amazing. My kids have absolutely loved her class. They’ve learned about famous artists and artists we’ve never heard of. They love the different activities they get to do each week and are exposed to all kinds of things I could never teach them. Mrs Aimee also sends out an email after each class with activities to do at home to reinforce lessons as well as book recommendations for each lesson. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS CLASS! SIGN UP!”

“Today was Preston’s last summer art lesson at Mini Matisse: Art for Kids. He loved each lesson & learned important foundational skills (use of color, expression, perspective, etc)…all which his teacher incorporated into improving his drawings & comics (his favorite form of art currently). We are so thankful for your time w/our kids this summer, Aimee Coker! You have a special gift & my kids loved every moment with you!”
