CUSTOM ART FAQ:
DO YOU DO CUSTOM PIECES?
Absolutely, yes. Commissions make up most of my painted work. Whether it’s a family portrait or general idea you want translated into art, I’d love to do it.
How much does it cost?
As far as custom pieces, price depends on size and subject material. Anywhere from $100-5000. There are a few pieces for sale on my website and the prices are listed underneath.
how do I start the process? how long does it take?
Shoot me a message on my contact page.
I’ll give you a quote, and before starting a painting I collect a deposit. The rest of the money isn’t due until I finish the painting. The whole process generally takes 3-8 weeks.
MINI MATISSE FAQ:
how do i know if my child is ready for private art lessons?
Generally, a child would benefit from private lessons if they show an avid interest in art. Children don’t have to be exceptionally skilled to start lessons, they just need to be open to exploring what it means to be creative. Interest and skill are not the same. If a child loves to create art, skill can be acquired.
how are the lessons structured?
All new students begin with a very laid back and fun assessment to see where they are at technically. From there, we progress through the seven elements of art, as well as spending time on color theory, tools of the trade, and important techniques.
Lessons are geared toward what the child is interested in (if the child has a favorite tv show, for example, we might use images from that show in our shading and line work practice), and are age appropriate.
What ages do you teach?
My youngest student is just three years old, but I will accept any students of any age (even adults!) who want to learn. My oldest student was 83 years old.
where are lessons held? how long are they?
Lessons are held in my home in Pflugerville, Texas. I have a private art classroom where the lessons take place. Parents and students are welcome to stop in and check the space out beforehand.
Lessons are 1 hour long, once a week and will be recurring until canceled. Lessons are billed in four week increments.
What does my child need to bring to the lesson?
Nothing! I provide all materials necessary for the lessons, as well as an apron to keep your child’s clothes paint-free.
